Dilip Kumar and His Movies

Dilip Kumar entered the Hindi cinema with the movie Jwar Bhata, in the year 1944. The actual name of this actor is Yousuf Khan. Shah Rukh may be called the King Khan today, but Dilip Kumar will remain the legendary Khan forever.

The actor has acted with all the top heroes of his age, and he has won many awards for his outstanding performances. He gave the magnum opus of Indian cinema- Mughal-e-azam with the enchanting Madhubala. The supporting actors were also one of the finest in their times, one among them being the great Prithviraj Kapoor himself, playing his father. This film is considered to be his benchmark film which gave his career a boost and there was no turning back for this actor. This film was edited and brought out in a color version for the new age audience and here too achieved its heights in bollywood.

The actor achieved the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement award. He is the former member of the parliament and entered politics after a successful career in the cinema industry. He reigned from the 40's to the 80's and he is known to have the most number of awards in the best actor category. He would easily give the young actors a run for their money even today, at the age of 88. He is known lovingly as Dilip Saab among his fans. He also gave the audience the film Naya Daur for which he got the best actor award, this film too was colored and rereleased for the new age audience.

He has been a part of many social works and the most important among them is the work of bridging the gap between India and Pakistan. He was awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan award from the government of Pakistan apparently the highest civilian award given in Pakistan.
