Fifth

Skanda mata is the fifth form of Navdurga. On the fifth day of Navratri festvities, people worship Skanda Mata. Worshippers give great respect to mother Skanda on this day of Durga Pooja. Skanda is the name given to Kumar Kartikey. Goddess Parvati, mother of Kartikey called with name 'Skanda mata'. When all Devta, Rishi Munis and Manushyas were (mankind) were tensed from torture and domination of huge body giants big Tarakasur, kartikey was considered as only almighty who finished the terror of Devil Tarakasur. Related as the mother of powerful immortal Kumar Kartikey, goddess Parvati is entitled with name 'Skanda Mata'. Considered as TRUE Goddess of tolerence. Represented with four-arm carrying infant Kumar Kartikey in her lap. Her both left as well as right upper hands carries lotus flower. Also known with name 'Padamasana devi' as she sits on lotus in the meditation state. Doing Worshipping of mother Skanda on the fifth Navratri has great significance. Her graceful appearance charms the worshippers. She is known as fine Goddess of purity. By praying to this goddess worshippers can reach the peace to purify their mind and soul. This spiritual journey helps them experience the great truth of life. They forget their sorrows and attain the serenity in life. It is a belief that devotees and worshippers enter 'Vishudh Chakra' during fifth day of Durga Pooja. Vishudh indicates undiluted. Thus, in such state, worshipper get toward undiluted thoughts. They experience removal of impurities as well as tensions of external world, and involve themselves completely in belief of mother Skanda. Worshiping mother Skand on such auspicious day of Navratra, devotees experience and realize the immense peace and pleasure in soul and mind. Panchami of Navratri Pooja is entirely dedicated to mother Skanda that help devotees to get her great blessings. Her divine luster blesses the life of her devotees. With her blessings, all the wishes gets accomplished. She never let her devotees going back with empty hands. In fact, her blessings are unlimited that gives real peace in life. She shows the path toward Nirvana or Moksha. Being devoted to this Goddess, devotees come out from vicious circle of life and peacefully go towards salvation.

Fourth

This year in 2018, the fourth day of Navratri festival was on 13th October. Kushmanda Devi is considered as the creator of the universe. Kushmanda meaning is is, Ku+ushma+anda known as “the cosmic egg”. The first word “Ku” indicates “Little”, second word “Ushama” relates to “Warmth” and finally third word “anda” is called for “Eggs”. She formed the whole universe like a small cosmic egg. In Sanskrit language, “Kushmand” is defined as Pumpkin so many people offer the pumpkin to goddess. This is also the reason, she is referred with the name “Kushmanda Maa”. About Kushmanda Maa: She has the radiant as well as bright face while body displays golden complexion. She rides on a lion. She has eight hands, with which, she carries the weapons and give blessings to the devotees. With the right four hands, she carries Kamandalu, Dhanush (Bow), Arrow as well as Lotus while with the left four hands, she carries a jar which is full of nectar, Rosary, Gada and Chakra. With holding the rosary in her hand, she gives blessings to the devotees with (Wisdom) and (Wealth). She has also control over the Surya Loka so it is belief that she gives the energy to Sun. Goddess Kushmanda hears everyone’s wishes and full-fill all devotees wishes. The devotees worshipping Maa Kushmanda with great devotion ad following all the rituals, gets blessed with health, wealth as well as deep peace. She diminishes all the sorrows and troubles from the devotee life. There is one piece of advice to all the devotees that they must perform Gooddes Kushmanda puja with purity, calmness purity and full dedication. Worshipping with contaminated mind or heart can make this goddess angry. Fourth Day of Navratri Mantras and Stuti: During nine days of navratri, devotees sing with different mantras or shlokas related to particular days/goddess worship. People must chant the mantras, stutis and shlokas in order to please navratri’s goddess Kushmanda Maa.

The seventh instance of Mother Durga, worshipped on the seventh Navratra is known by Goddess Kalratri. She has tousled hair with dark complexion and a valor posture. With three eyes that shine greatly and bright and dreadful flames coming from her breath; she is generally depicted sitting on a donkey that seems like riding on “Gadarbh”. Being admired with name “Kalratri” she is represented as a death of “Kaal” that looked like a dark night for demons. She is also referred with the name ‘Kali Maa’. Her big red eyes, open reddish tongue and hand carrying sword powerfully demolish devils and demons. She carries weapon in her left upper hand which is thorn like and made of iron and in the lower left hand there is dragger. Her raised right hand carries a sparkling sword in that fight with all evil and always appear to grant boon to all devotees while her right lower hand looks like in the pose of moderate fears. Her upper right hand seems to be in “Var Mudra” and lower right hand looks to be in “Abhay Mudra”. According to a myth, Goddess Kalratri crushed the demon Raktabeej. According to is a belief it is known that that it is only Goddess Kalratri who could kill the extreme devil Raktabeej. No one was able to destory Raktabeej as even single drop of his scattered blood formed another embodiment of Raktabeej and the this blood produced other millions of Raktabeej. Maa Durga represented herself in Kalaratri and used Patra (vessel) to keep and imbibe whole blood of Raktabeej. Her acute violent appearance while destroying Raktabeej and other demons immensly frightened all organisms of the world. But still, she is considered as kind Goddess for all of her great devotees. Gemerally, the appearance of Maa Kalratri is so frightful but her grace is liberal toward her devotees. She diminishes any type of terror in the life of her devotee and ensures them with the freedom from sufferings and fear. Hence, she is also called as ‘Shubhamkari’ – one who do well. Worshipping Maa Kalaratri gives enough fruitful result to the devotees. With her grace, devotees achieves power, position as well as renowned status. She saves her devotees from the bad influence of demons and bad people. Worshiping her devotees, achieve long life and complete protection.
