The rock cut structures in several parts of India are one of the most primitive architecture forms. One such type of stuctures are the Karla Caves. These caves in Maharashtra were built by Buddhist monks, one of the finest architectural examples. These caves are gulfed with the hills that run up along a narrow and winding path. These were also one of the main trade routes of the caravan. These caves are an exmpale of natural excellence. The monks build the cave shrine here are cosidered as one of the best places.
